Find Tranquility

Find Tranquility

April 11, 2018

Sometimes life calls for nothing more than sitting down and relaxing. Unfortunately, our world moves faster every day, and we’re left with fewer opportunities to simply relax. Doesn’t it seem like every time you finally make the time, relaxing is the last thing your mind is able to do? We know that feeling, too, so we decided to do something about it.

Life is a timeline, on the scale of another timeline, that falls on an even larger timeline, and so forth. Time is truly, when it comes down to it, all we have. You can spend your life trying to make more money and acquire more stuff and notoriety, but at the end of your life, it is time that will always run out. We don’t mean to be so dramatic, but it’s the truth. Time is the most important resource in the entire world, so it’s what you choose to do with your time that is the most important decision you’ll ever make. Our world is full of distractions aiming to cash in on some of the time that you’re willing to spend, each one trying to steal just one more second. If you’re like me, you’ve heard the phrase “use your time wisely” about ten-thousand times in your life. So, you’re used to hearing it, but are you used to actually doing it?

Your brain and emotions work just like your body does, in that there comes a point that the tank is just running on “E”. When your body is sore at the end of a long day, you might use a bag of ice to nurse those aching muscles; your brain needs the same kind of attention! I wouldn’t recommend actually “icing” your brain, though, that either leads to a brain freeze or frosting on your head, neither of which is desirable. However, you can allow your brain to recuperate by dedicating time to letting it unwind and relax. It’s important to remember, though, that how you choose to dedicate that time plays a significant role in the recovery process.

There’s just about no worse feeling than having to crawl out of bed on Monday morning after a weekend of partying and going out-on-the-town. Part of that feeling comes from just not wanting to get out of your comfy bed (who does, anyway?), but a lot of it comes from not being rested. You just had a whole weekend to relax and have fun, how could you need more rest? Well, if you spent your weekend partying, you may have bypassed the opportunity to let that brain of yours get some R&R. While we aren’t saying you don’t deserve an awesome night out, we are certainly saying that at some point during your time off, it is vitally important to dedicate some of that time to recuperation. Go for a walk, meditate, fill up a coloring book or draw a picture, or even just sit down in silence and take deep breaths. Whatever you choose, treat your brain to a vacation, and you’ll notice the change right away. It’s remarkable the difference you’ll see in your performance at work, in your ability to keep your cool when you’re frustrated, and most importantly, it will help you to get quality and meaningful sleep (getting out of bed on Monday won’t be so difficult!).

As we do with just about every other aspect of our life, we’ve found a blend of highly-effective essential oils that work in tandem with any calming technique to help you find your deepest point of relaxation. The blend is called Tranquil, and it’s available now here at Corked! Tranquil uses a combination of oils that have been used for hundreds of years (thousands, in some cases) to help people relax and find a state of calm amidst anxiety or hysteria. Such oils include Sandalwood, Jasmine, Chamomile, and more! Our favorite time to use Tranquil is while we’re out on a walk since it makes the walk just that much more, well...Tranquil. You can use it whenever or wherever you make the time to unwind, and you’ll see for yourself the power of finding tranquility!
