Recently Corked released a bunch of new essential oils, and we wanted to give you all the opportunity to learn more about them and give you the knowledge to use them effectively. We understand that when it comes to using essential oils, it can be a little confusing. This is why we are going to shine some light on the benefits of using our oils, and all the different ways that you can incorporate these oils into your daily routine!
The oil I wanted to shine the spotlight on this week is Turmeric. Turmeric also known as “The Golden Spice” is packed with a ton of health benefits. From antioxidants to anti-inflammatory properties, Turmeric is a go-to among health professionals. It’s not just the powder of Turmeric that contains all the health benefits, Turmeric essential oil is a great way to obtain those benefits as well. If you are wondering, “Okay, how do I use the oil to get these benefits?”. Don't worry! I'm about to tell you.
Turmeric essential oil can be used for many different parts of your body. You can use it for your skin, hair, brain, inflammation, depression, etc. The list goes on for miles. Instead of listing all the benefits it has for your body, i'll just break it down on how to use Turmeric essential oil to improve your overall health in these areas.
SKIN
Turmeric essential oil can work wonders for your skin. Whether that be fighting acne, treating sunburn or fighting the effects of aging. Make sure that when you are applying any essential oil directly to your skin that you mix it with a carrier oil.
HAIR
If you struggle with dandruff, Turmeric essential oil is also a great way to naturally eliminate those unwanted flakes. If you want those flakes gone, try adding a few drops of Turmeric essential oil with a carrier oil and watch them disappear. As an added bonus you might also see an increase in hair growth.
BRAIN
Recent studies have shown that a hormone located within Turmeric essential oil called, BDNF, can potentially delay or even reverse brain ailments such as Alzheimer’s, dementia, and depression. Turmeric can also improve cognitive function and improve concentration. The best way to obtain these benefits is to inhale Turmeric essential oil. You can do this by putting a few drops into your home diffuser and inhaling the aroma that way.
INFLAMMATION
If you experience inflammation, whether it be short-term or long-term, Turmeric essential oil can be helpful in reducing it. Turmeric contains a sesquiterpene hydrocarbon, which gives it the incredible ability to reduce inflammation. It can reduce inflammation from chronic disease, joint pain, muscle aches, etc.
DEPRESSION
There are about 16.2 million adults that suffer from depression. If you are one of those 16.2 million, Turmeric essential oil can be a great way to help relieve the symptoms of depression naturally. That same compound that we talked about earlier (BNDF), is also very helpful in alleviating the depression symptoms by improving your mood and promoting positive thinking. There are two popular ways to use Turmeric oil for depression. You can inhale the oil directly, or you can diffuse it. Both ways work incredibly well.
That is all for this weeks blog. This is only a short list of all the benefits that Turmeric essential oil can provide. It really lives up to its name "The Golden Spice". If you want to experience these benefits for yourself or for a loved one, pick up a bottle of Turmeric oil and try it out for yourself.
